Under Srini's leadership, Kotak Realty Fund has scaled up to over US$1.47 billion in AUM, making it one of the largest real estate funds in India, and has successfully established a strong track record of profitable exits from investments.
As one of the earliest fund managers to raise and invest capital in India, Srini has introduced significant financing, financial structuring and negotiating skills in the alternate assets industry.
Srini joined the Kotak Mahindra Group in January 1993. He was a part of Kotak's investment banking joint venture with Goldman Sachs from its inception in 1995 and was co-head of Kotak Investment Banking till 2005. At Kotak Investment Banking, Srini advised leading domestic and international companies on capital raising, M&A and strategic divestitures.
Srini is a member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) committee for policy initiatives on Foreign Direct Investment and REITs and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) subcommittee on Capital Markets. He also serves as Chairman for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), South Asia Valuation Professional Group Board.
Srini holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University and an MBA from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad.
Vikas moved to Kotak Realty Fund in 2007. He is a Senior Executive Director at Kotak Realty Fund where he oversees investments across all realty segments. Vikas has led several investments and exits.
Prior to Kotak Realty Fund, Vikas was with Kotak Investment Banking where he headed the real estate and energy sector verticals. Having set up coverage of the realty sector for Kotak Investment Banking, he led key transactions such as the initial public offerings of DLF, Puravankara and Sobha Developers, private equity fundraise for Mantri Developers and Divyasree Developers and several M&A transactions across sectors such as energy, telecom, technology, media and chemicals.
Vikas has also worked at Goldman Sachs (Hong Kong) in 2004 as part of a secondment from Kotak Investment Banking.
Vikas holds a Bachelor's degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University.
At Kotak Realty Fund, Sandeep leads investment transactions in township, warehousing, affordable housing and residential asset classes.
Prior to joining Kotak, Sandeep worked with CRISIL (a Standard & Poor's Company) in the consulting business, advising on transactions related to real estate, infrastructure and economic development projects. He has worked on advisory assignments such as the recommendation of best land use, study of industrial parks and townships, feasibility assessment of road projects and bid-evaluation projects for government agencies, private sector and multilateral clients.
In an earlier stint with the SKIL Group, Sandeep worked on land acquisition and master planning of Mumbai's Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and was involved in private equity and debt syndication for the company's ventures in port, rail and townships.
Sandeep has completed his Bachelor's in Engineering (B.E.) and holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. He also holds a Master's Certificate in Project Management.
At Kotak Realty Fund, Raj has gained considerable experience in investment underwriting and monitoring the fund investments.
Prior to Kotak, Raj worked at JM Financial Consultants Ltd. in the investment banking team covering the real estate sector and with KPMG, in their assurance division.
Raj is a certified Chartered Accountant by qualification and has also cleared the second level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute, USA) programme.
Sonu joined Kotak Realty Fund in 2011. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at Kotak Investment Banking, covering the Financial Sponsors Group and the Alternate Energy practice. At Kotak Investment Banking, Sonu has worked on a wide range of sectors including, among others, renewable energy, healthcare, financial services, and industrials and was involved in marquee transactions such as the USD 104 million growth equity raise by Apollo Hospitals from Apax Partners, USD 175 million equity raise by Mahindra & Mahindra from Goldman Sachs PIA, USD 175 million buyout of Sigma Electric by Goldman Sachs PIA and USD 50 million growth equity investment in Magma Fincorp by KKR.
Sonu is a Chartered Accountant and has cleared all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute, USA) program.
Prior to joining Kotak, Rahul worked with Landmark Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.
Prior to Landmark, Rahul has worked with Milestone Capital Advisors Ltd., Mumbai, as Vice President – Real Estate Investment Management; Prozone Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of Provogue India Ltd. & a Joint Venture with Liberty International, UK), Mumbai as General Manager – Projects; and Gherzi Eastern Ltd., Mumbai, as Project Manager/Coordinator.
Rahul holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Construction Engineering from Mumbai University. He has also completed his Diploma in Fabrication Technology & Erection Engineering from Mumbai as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Advance Construction Management (PGDACM) from NICMAR, Pune.
At KIAL, Rohit worked in investor relations and was instrumental in streamlining and automating reporting to investors. He also conceptualized and developed the online reporting platform for investors of KIAL.
Prior to joining Kotak, Rohit worked with an investment bank advising clients in the technology, engineering and infrastructure sectors on private equity fund raising. He has also worked with Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd., a venture capital fund, handling investments in the IT/ ITES sectors.
Rohit has written a research article titled 'Managerial Compensation in the New Age: Creating a Partnership for Value Creation'. The article was published in a compilation titled 'Achieving Competitive Advantage through People'.
Rohit is a certified Chartered Accountant and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He has cleared all 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute, USA) programme.
Prior to joining Kotak, Abhishek worked with Essel Finance and Motilal Oswal in various capacities.
Abhishek holds a Bachelor's of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, as well as a M.S. (Finance) degree from Lancaster University, UK. In addition, Abhishek has cleared all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute, USA) programme.
Prior to joining Kotak, Souvik worked with Deutsche Bank in the Structured Credit team, specializing in distressed portfolio investments and special situations financing. Souvik also completed his summer internship at Deutsche Bank, where he worked with the Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Broking Teams.
Souvik holds a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication from Jadavpur University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. He has also cleared the second level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute, USA) programme.
Prior to Kotak, Rohan was a part of the investment banking team at Brookfield Financial, covering real estate capital market transactions in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. He has experience of working on debt, equity and mezzanine transactions in the real estate space.
Rohan has also worked at JP Morgan, as an equity research analyst supporting the EMEA Telecom sector.
Rohan holds a Bachelor's of Technology (B.Tech.) and a Master's of Technology (M.Tech.) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He has also earned his Master's of Science in Management from London Business School (LBS).
Prior to Kotak, Eklavya worked with the Aditya Birla Group as a leadership associate with experience across retail, aluminium, financial services and cement industries. He worked on the Ultratech Cement - Jaypee acquisition, where he was involved in evaluating the opportunity, financial modelling and due diligence. He did his summer internship from IIM Calcutta at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the sales & trading division in fixed income markets. Prior to his MBA, Eklavya had worked with Nomura in credit structuring and valuation and with the investment management team at KPMG.
Eklavya holds a B.Tech degree from Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.
